Written on 6/02/20 Working 40 hrs In-Office as "Essential Worker" It's a fucking revolutionary pandemic, bitches. Today I woke up and was unable to turn my head to the left. I'm in so much pain that I can't even focus at work, so I schedule a telehealth appointment with my doctor. The doctor tells me that I have a pinched nerve in my neck.  "How did I do that?"  I asked.  "Have you been under any stress?" the doctor replies. Have a I been under any StReSs?!  It's a fucking revolutionary pandemic, bitches.  Of COURSE I'm stressed.

Lessons from Mom

Written on March 29th, 2020 Self-Quarantining after Shelter-In-Place Order I keep thinking about a reminder my mother (and retired RN) used to tell me from time-to-time: "Always make sure to wear clean underwear. You never know when a nurse might have to cut them off you." I believe my mother said this to be funny, but it speaks to her experience as well. I've always remembered this tip (amongst many others) from my mother. I took a shower today and thought, "I should clean extra well; just in case I don't get to take a shower for a while... You know, because I'll be in the hospital... This was a very sobering thought, and I truly hope an over-exaggeration.
