Lessons from Mom

Self-Quarantining after Shelter-In-Place Order

I keep thinking about a reminder my mother (and retired RN) used to tell me from time-to-time:

"Always make sure to wear clean underwear. You never know when a nurse might have to cut them off you."

I believe my mother said this to be funny, but it speaks to her experience as well. I've always remembered this tip (amongst many others) from my mother.

I took a shower today and thought, "I should clean extra well; just in case I don't get to take a shower for a while... You know, because I'll be in the hospital...

This was a very sobering thought, and I truly hope an over-exaggeration.
